The first Nokia
Windows Phone 8 smartphone is expected to be known as the Nokia Phi,
although we highly doubt that'll be the name when it launches in stores.
Apparently, another two devices will also be unveiled at the same
event, but we don't have any details about them at the current time.
The Nokia Phi is expected to take
advantage of the support for higher resolution displays made available
by Windows Phone 8. Rumours suggest the Nokia Phi will have a 4.7 inch
ClearBack display , which we expect to run at at least a 1280*720 pixel
resolution.
A separate , but related , leak from the crew over at MyNokiaBlog suggets that the Nokia Phi will adopt a similar design to the Nokia Lumia 900. They also added that it will support LTE, NFC and will have a much bigger battery than Nokia's previous smartphones .
We'll just have to wait until Nokia's event on September 5th to find more about the Nokia Phi and any other Windows Phone 8 devices they may be launching.

HTC Proto Image and Spec Leaked Online !

A new HTC smartphone has been leaked online which is thought to be the successor the HTC One V, The HTC One V was a pretty decent mid-range smartphone and we don't expect the HTC Proto to be any different.
The new smartphone, code-named the HTC Proto, was leaked by TheVerge
who even managed to get their hands on a photo of the smartphone (shown
above). The HTC Proto looks very much like your standard HTC One series
smartphone and it's possible when it launches it'll be branded as One
series device.
The specification of the HTC Proto was
also leaked and includes a 4 inch LCD touch-screen display, although we
don't have any information about what resolution it'll run at.
Powering the HTC Proto is a dual-core 1
GHz Qualcomm processor , while it also has 512MB of RAM giving it a
decent amount of power for a mid-range smartphone. On-board memory comes
in at 4GB, while you also get a 5 mega-pixel camera and support for Beats Audio technology.
No details were given about what
operating system HTC's new smartphone would run on, but we widely expect
it to launch with Android Ice Cream Sandwich. It's possible it'll then
be upgradable to Android Jelly Bean in the future.
We're expecting HTC to officially unveil the HTC Proto at this years IFA , which takes place next week in Berlin. 3G will be reporting on all the latest announcements from the event, so keep posted !

Next Lumia Smartphone To Feature Pureview Technology ?

The Nokia Pureview 808
has a stunning 41 mega-pixel camera which took mobile snappers to a new
level. Ever since it was first announced there has been huge demand for
a Lumia smartphone to feature the technology !
Nokia have now hinted, in a response on their Twitter account, that a new Nokia Lumia smartphone could be launching with Pureview technology.
In a response to a users question
regarding a Lumia smartphone with a Pureview 41 mega-pixel camera a
Nokia employee replied stating that the user should ""Just keep your
eyes and ears open in the next coming weeks....".
Even through the information is far from
official it's the nearest we've got so far regarding the launch of a
Lumia smartphone with a Pureview camera. The reason this is potentially
such exciting news is that the Pureview 808 ran on the redundant Symbian
platform , while a new Lumia smartphone will run on the brand-new Windows Phone 8 operating system.
Nokia Pureview enables a user to take
full 38 mega-pixel snaps on their smartphone, or alternatively to take 5
mega-pixel shots where each pixel is made up of 7 others. Furthermore,
you can shoot full 1080p video with amazing audio quality thanks to
Nokia Rich Recording. The camera itself is a 41 mega-pixel snapper with
Carl Zeiss optics and a Xenon Flash.

Earlier in the month we brought you news that Nokia were expected to unveil their first Lumia smartphone running Windows Phone 8
in September. We expected the initial launch to take place at Nokia
World , which starts on September 5th but we've now got fresh
information suggesting otherwise.
Nokia and Microsoft have issued a press invite to a joint-event on September 5th in New York , which features both the Lumia
logo and the Windows Phone logo. It looks like Microsoft were keen to
hold a joint press-conference to unveil the first Nokia windows Phone 8
smartphone , which is understandable because this will also effectively
be the unveiling of their Windows Phone 8 platform.
We assume the new Lumia smartphone will
also be unveiled and showcased at Nokia World, but the press event in
New York will be its official unveiling.
Now we know the date when we'll see the
first Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphone will be unveiled our minds crave
for more details about the device. Sadly, we've heard very little about
the new Lumia smartphone, or perhaps smartphones, that will launch the
Windows Phone 8 platform. However, we're expecting a high-end smartphone
which will set new standards for the Windows Phone platform.
In an ideal world we're hoping for a
Nokia Lumia smartphone with a 1080p display, Pureview camera technology
and a quad-core processor. However, we highly doubt we'll be that lucky
and as soon as the folks at 3G learn anything more about Nokia's Windows Phone 8 smartphones you'll be the first to know.

HTC One S Is Best European Social Media Phone !
Just yesterday we reported that Sony's Xperia P won "European Green SmartPhone 2012-13" at the EISA awards. Now HTC have got in on the act because their HTC One S has won "Best Social Media Phone 2012-13".
The EISA awards are decided by 50
technology magazines across 90 European countries , so winning an award
is something to be proud of. Interestingly, HTC won the social media award last year as well with its HTC Cha Cha smartphone.
The "EISA Social Media Award" rewards
smartphones that enables users to easily connect to multiple social
networks and ones which integrates social media features deeply into the
smartphone. The HTC One S certainly ticks all the boxes because it
comes pre-loaded with a number of social networking applications and
specialised widgets.
The HTC One S also has a great
specification which includes a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED touch-screen,
dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and an 8 mega-pixel camera.

iPhone 5 To Launch In US On September 21st ?

The iPhone 5
has been tipped to be launching early in October but new information
which has surfaced online suggests that it could launch at the end of
September, at least in the US.
The folks over at TechCrunch
have heard from a Verizon employee that the company isn't allowing any
of its staff to take holidays between September 21st and September 30th.
This is the normal procedure for the company when a new iPhone 5 is
launching.
According to the employee in question
the iPhone 5 will be unveiled on September 12th with pre-orders starting
later that day. The smartphone itself will then be released on
September 21st , which isn't far away at all and we hope it launches in
the UK on the same day.
This could merely be coincidence or even
false information entirely , but it's the most concrete evidence we've
got so far regarding the launch of the iPhone 5.
The iPhone 5 is rumoured to have a 4 inch touch-screen, which will be thinner the iPhone 4S's
display thanks to the use of In-Cell technology. It's also thought to
have a Liquid Metal case and will support NFC and introduce a new
mini-dock connector.
Sadly, that's all we know about the Apple iPhone 5 at this time, but once 3G gets any new information about the smartphone you'll be the first to know.
